For the sake of the country, I hope Obama does not actually believe his own words when he spoke earlier this week about the mortgage crises. I hope he understands the fundamentals better. I hope he and his advisers are looking at solutions that focus on the real reasons Americans find themselves in the positions they do.

Earlier today, I was interviewed by Winter Casey over at the National Journal about the relaunch of the congressional Republican website, www.gop.gov. It is a significant leap forward in design, content, and ease of use. Other GOP organizations should take note and keep looking for new ideas and new technologies to advance their message more effectively.

For me, the Vietnam Memorial is by far the most moving. I am too young to know anyone who died in Vietnam (I was born during that period). While I cannot relate to the angst of that period either, there is something incredibly moving about seeing all of those names (58,195 in all) engraved on polished black granite... there are just no words! As if the moment was not sad enough, my wife asked me to consider all of the mothers, fathers, wives, children, and friends associated with each of those names...
